ShadowHawk Special #1, The New Shadowhawk #1-7, ShadowHunt,
et. Al.
Paul Johnstone was dead, but ShadowHawk was not.
Knowing that I wanted a new series, but not wanting to write it myself
I turned to writer extraordinaire, Kurt Busiek.
Kurt came up with (as he is wont to do) a rather brilliant idea; ShadowHawk
was, in fact, a Spirit of Justice that had inhabited many people
throughout recorded history in many lands sometimes several individuals
simultaneously.
This story started with another identity mystery and revealed that this
time the spirit inhabited not one person, but four! (well, actually
three people, the fourth turned out to be the robot we first met back
in ShadowHawk #13). Kurt wove the mystery of the new ShadowHawks
seamlessly through his introductions of the ShadowHawks of the past
and brought everything to a stunning conclusion with the robot being
the last man standing.
The saga of the robot ShadowHawk continued through five titles all released
in the month of April in a story called ShadowHunt.
ShadowHunt #1 featured Chapter One and the story continued through
Chapel v.II #7, Youngblood v.2 #7, Team Youngblood
#22 and ended in New Man #4, with the robot being destroyed
and the fate of the Spirit of Justice in new hands, yet again.
